ANNA is a filmmaker, photographer, and educator with a special passion for analog and photographic mediums.

Anna’s filmmaking focuses on the intersection of experimental and nonfiction filmmaking, finding complexity and greater expression of meaning where these two genres intersect. She has a passion for the use of 16mm and Super 8 film, strongly embracing the use of these mediums in her work. Her filmmaking and photography explore themes of absence, the impact of historical events, and the sublime in natural and manmade landscapes.

She primarily works as an educator, having taught at institutions such as Suffolk University, Drexel University, Maine Media Workshops + College, and Harvard University. She has taught and assisted in a wide variety of classes from 16mm filmmaking, to Super 8 Caffenol developing, and iPhone videography.

After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2015 with a BFA in Film/Video, Anna worked in the Boston area as a freelance filmmaker and photographer. She has worked on multiple independent documentaries in the Boston area, including Julie Mallozzi’s Circle Up (2018) and Lucia Small’s Girl Talk (2022). She currently resides in Los Angeles where she is pursuing a MFA in filmmaking at California Institute of the Arts.
